INDONESIAN SOLDIERS ATTEND AN INSPECTION CEREMONY IN JAKARTA.
Indonesian soldiers display their equipment during an inspection
ceremony at the military headquarters in Jakarta May 9, 2003, before
heading for the restive Aceh province. Seven navy vessels carrying some
3,000 marines sailed for the troubled Indonesian province of Aceh on
Thursday but government officials said there was still time to talk
with rebels. The troops set sail for oil and gas-rich Aceh on the
northern tip of Sumatra island from the East Java city of Surabaya,
where Indonesia's military chief told troops to brace for war.
