An Indonesian soldier patrols near the damaged building of the state electric company in the latest Moslem-Christian violence in the eastren city of Ambon in the Moluccas island on January 9. Ambon is quiet on the second day of the Moslem Eid al-Fitr holiday but the island of Halmahera is still tense. At least 1500 people have been killed in the violence in the moluccas since last year. Indonesia's Vice President Megawati Sukarnoputri has denied she has taken no action to solve year-long bloodshed in the Moluccas islands, the official Antara news agency reported on Sunday.
