A farmer carries his net brimmed with seaweed at Geger beach in Nusa Dua, Bali August 1, 2011. The seaweed will then be sifted through to be separated from other sea floaties before being sold to the market for 7,000 rupiah per kg ($0.80/kg). Geger beach's gradient blue water is a surfers and sun-bathers' haven, as well as a place for Balinese farmers to net seaweed. However construction cranes, damaged corals and floating trash are an unfortunate sign of how successful the Indonesian resort island has been in attracting tourists. To match Reuters Life!
