A Papuan villager with his child listens to a discussion between executives
from British energy giant BP Plc and community leaders in Taroy village,
Bintuni Bay, in Indonesia's rebellious Papua province August 21, 2003. BP
officials have spent the past two years visiting the nine villages that will
be directly affected by a planned $2 billion gas plant. During this meeting,
as in others, villagers became heated, accusing BP of not meeting their
demands. But they later cooled down, shook hands with the BP officials and
went back to their daily chores in this bayside village. Picture taken
