AN INDONESIAN ETHNIC CHINESE COUPLE OPEN A BUSINESS IN JAKARTA.
An Indonesian ethnic Chinese couple opens a business in front of their burned shop in Jakarta's Chinatown February 13. Their shop was burned by angry mob during riots in May last year, but with an optimism spurred on by the Chinese new year which will be fall on February 16, they have started their retail business again. Indonesia's ethnic-Chinese community, the most economically successful of Indonesia's hundreds of ethnic groups, is still recovering from their victimisation and many of their most powerful members are still maintaining a low profile.
