INDONESIAN REFUGEES ARRIVE IN PONTIANAK PORT IN KALIMANTAN.
Indonesian sailors help Maduranese refugees, fleeing racial violence, from a truck arriving in the port town of Pontianak, West Kalimantan late March 22. Ethnic unrest has resulted in the deaths of at least 165 people in clashes between indigenous Malays and a separate ethnic group from the central island of Madura. Indonesia has been rocked for months by fighting, often between different ethnic and religious groups, around its 17,000 islands.
