Indonesians perform the first evening prayer marking the start of the fasting month "Ramadan" in the mainly Moslem country at the Istiqlal Grand Mosque in capital Jakarta December 30. Moslems around the world observe the fasting month ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, which in Indonesia falls on January 30-31. During the fasting month, Moslems are forbidden to eat, drink and have sex during daylight.
