A MAN WALKS THROUGH A DESTROYED CHURCH IN JAKARTA'S CHINATOWN.
A member of the Christian community walks through a destroyed church in Jakarta's Chinatown November 23. The church was destroyed when a Moslem mob attacked and burnt down a neighbouring gambling den on Sunday. Police found eight more bodies in the den after violent ethnic and religious clashes in Chinatown at the weekend. The discovery brings to at least 14 killed in Sunday's clashes. The mob unrest followed two weeks of violence in the battered capital that has made Indonesia's government look increasingly ineffective in the face of growing political turmoil.
