Jakarta, Indonesia - Republic of
INDONESIAN STOCK BROKERS AT JAKARTA STOCK EXCHANGE.
Indonesian stock brokers idle their time away during a quiet second trading session on Jakarta's stock exchange June 6. Jakarta stocks shed some of the previous day's gains on Tuesday, hit by news that the central bank governor Sjahril Sabirin had been declared a suspect in a banking scandal. Dealers said the market, already lacking support from other Asian markets, has been hit by worries that souring relations between President Abdurrahman Wahid and the central bank would hamper economic reforms and threaten recovery.
