INDONESIAN TRANSVESTITES ATTEND A SEX EDUCATION CLASS IN JAKARTA.
A health worker uses a wooden phallus to demonstrate the proper use of a condom to a group of Indonesian transvestites during a sex education course, which also offers HIV testing and counselling, at a clinic in Jakarta December 5, 2000. There are approximately 6,500 transvestites in the Indonesian capital, many working in the sex industry. Although recent health ministry data indicates that only about 1,500 Indonesians are HIV-positive, many cases go unreported or undetected in the world's fourth most populous nation.
