Acehnese man is surrounded by smoke from debris near Lhok Kruet.
An Acehnese man is surrounded by smoke from debris that he and fellow villagers have set alight during a cash-for-work programme near the tsunami-ravaged town of Lhok Kruet on the west coast of Aceh province June 20, 2005. Lhok Kruet, 120 km south of the local capital Banda Aceh, was wiped out by the Dec. 26 tsunami that destroyed much of the Acehnese west coast. Foreign and local aid agencies have been helping the Acehnese try to get their lives back together, partly through cash-for-work programmes that focus on the massive clean-up, which is still going on six months later. Villagers are normally paid $3-$4 a day. REUTERS/Beawiharta DY/VP
