Injured Afghan men rest in a detention camp for refugees in the southern Iranian town of Zahedan near the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan June 19, 2001 after they were injured when a truck packed with 60 illegal Afghans deviated from the road and hit a passenger bus last week. Afghanistan currently faces perhaps the most disastrous humanitarian crisis in the entire world, its people crossing the border every day seeking refuge in neighbouring Iran. According to the United Nations, Iran is home to 1.5 million Afghans and more than 500,000 Iraqis.
