An Iraqi woman tries to calm down her injured son, who broke his both legs
and right arm during a shooting incident, at the main hospital in central
Baghdad April 15, 2003. Some of Baghdad's 33 hospitals were emptied by
looters, others remain closed out of fear, and many hospital staff are
staying home, according to the Swiss-based International Committee of the
Red Cross (ICRC). Dedicated Iraqi hospital workers were trying to keep
health care facilities functioning, and coalition forces were protecting
