Iraqi women and children wait in a queue June 15 to receive monthly food rations. Sanctions-hit Iraq has said it will no longer accept humanitarian aid from donor nations and called on its friends instead to campaign for a rapid lifting of the embargo, imposed for its 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Chief U.N. weapons inspector [Richard Butler] said June 15 that a work schedule agreed with Iraq could clear up outstanding disarmament issues in two months and lead to the closing of files on its prohibited weapons by October.
