BRITISH TROOPS REST AFTER DESTROYING IRAQI TANKS NEAR BASRA.
British soldiers of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, Armoured Regiment,
take a break, March 27, 2003, following an engagement with an Iraqi
column of vehicles near Basra. British forces destroyed 14 Iraqi tanks
and four armoured personnel carriers on Thursday, foiling a fresh
attempt by troops loyal to President Saddam Hussein to quit the
southern city of Basra, a British military spokesman said.
