PEOPLE ADMIRE EROTIC ROMAN ARTEFACTS ON DISPLAY IN A NAPLES MUSEUM.
Visitors admire a room with the statue of "Satiro and Ninfa" as part of more than 300 ancient Roman erotica artefacts and statues on display at the National Archeological Museum in Naples April 19. Unearthed from Pompei, Herculaneum and other ancient Roman towns, the so-called "secret cabinet" made the king blush, outraged the Catholic Church and was condemned by a priest as a "hell to corrupt the morale of the chastest". After years of restoration, more than 300 artefacts depicting both mainstream and less widespread sexual acts will be unveiled, museum curator Stefano De Caro said.
