A child reaches out to touch a snake as she waits for the beginning of St. Domenico's procession in Cocullo, central Italy, May 1st, 2003. Every year on the first Thursday of May, snakes are placed onto the statue of St. Dominico and then the statue is carried in a procession through the town.
