FRENCH FIREFIGHTERS DIRECT WATER JETS AT OIL TANK FIRE IN ABIDJAN.
Two members of a specialist French fire team direct a powerful jet of water onto the burnt-out and twisted remains of a 40 million litre oil storage tank in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, late May 15. The 23-man French task force specially flown in earlier in the day helped Ivorian fire crews put out the fire which had been raging since May 13, threatening strategic oil reserves and the nearby SIR refinery.
