MAN GATHERS COCOA PODS IN IVORY COAST.
Ivorian man Yapo Alphonse holds fruit from one of his cocoa trees at Ebimpe
village west of Abidjan, October 9, 2002. Ivory Coast's army softened its
tone on crushing a three-week rebellion in the West African country after
being beaten back from a rebel stronghold and as foreign pressure grew for
talks. But insurgents holding a huge slice of the world's top cocoa producer
vowed to fight their war to the end.
