Tokyo University's Department of Mechano-informatics Professor Yasuo Kuniyoshi stands next to a humanoid robot, jointly developed by University of Tokyo and Japan's public research organization Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, during a demonstration at his research department in Tokyo April 24, 2007. The robot, aimed to be used in fields such as nursing care and housework, is the world's first humanoid robot which is capable of lifting up a box weighing 30 kg (66 pounds) and drag a mannequin weighing 66 kg (145 pounds) controlled by its built-in sensors, Professor Kuniyoshi said.
