FORMER POW ZEEMAN ARRIVES IN TOKYO FROM NEW ZEALAND.
President of the New Zealand Action Committee for Japanese War Victims Hendrik Zeeman, accompanied by his fiancee, talks to reporters at a Tokyo hotel November 25. Former allied POW's and civilian internees arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday hoping to put an end to their four-year battle against the Japanese government for its treatment against them during World War Two. Six organisations from Britain, the United States, Australia and New Zealand jointly launched a lawsuit in January 1995, demanding an official apology and compensation of $22,000 each from the Japanese government.
