FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1995 KOBE QUAKE.
Traffic moves in a slow pace under an elevated highway January 15, now repaired after it had tipped over to its side following the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that had killed at least 6,430 people in Kobe, western Japan, in January 1995. Kobe has repaired much of the physical damage caused by the devastating quake five years ago, but many emotional scars after the disaster have yet to be healed.
