Japanese computer fans crowd in long queues around a computer shop in Tokyo's Akihabara electronics specialty district as Microsoft Corp's Windows 2000 operating system went on sale at the stroke of midnight February 18. Thousands of fans patiently waited in long lines awaiting the release of the next-generation operating system.
