CASIO COMPUTER CO UNVEILS WORLD'S FIRST WRIST-TYPE DIGITAL CAMERA IN TOKYO.
Casio Computer Company's Akira Watanabe shows off the "world's first wrist-type wearable digital camera WQV-1" which is unveiled in Tokyo January 6. The display screen of the wrist camera is a 120 X 120-dot LCD capable of displaying 16 grayscales. The monitor can be used as a viewfinder when recording images and as a display screen for playback. The wrist camera's 1MB of built-in semiconductor memory can store up to 100 monochrome images. It will go on market from May for 22,000 yen (US$212).
