VILLAGERS CARRY A KASHMIRI SIKH KILLED BY SUSPECTED SEPARATISTS IN CHATHISINGHPORA.
Villagers carry a Kashmiri Sikh killed by suspected separatists in this small village, about 62 kms (40 miles) south of Srinagar, March 21. A band of suspected separatists shot and killed 35 Sikhs and wounded another in an attack on the village in the restive Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The Monday night raid came 12 hours before U.S. President Bill Clinton began a state visit to India in New Delhi. No one has claimed responsibility for the killings.
