Kashmir Gujjars carry a bride in a wooden palkhi or palanquin to her groom's house as part of their tradition during her wedding in Dard Khora on the outskirts of Srinagar April 29, 2012. Gujjars, who are semi-nomadic tribe members, mainly inhabit Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. They herd goats, sheep and buffaloes and walk for miles with their cattle through the mountains during summer in search of good pastures and come down to the plains for the winter.
