A Maasai woman cries during open air prayers for the return of their land September 10, 2004 in Mai Mahiu town, 50 km (31 miles) west of Kenya's capital Nairobi. The tribesmen said their land was taken improperly by colonial Britain a century ago and planned to curse what they called sellouts in their community accused of conspiring with powerful interests to deny the return of the pastoralists to high-altitude green pastures.
