James Lekalaile, a Samburu guide, holds on the door of a safari vehicle in the conservancy area near Shompole, a luxury eco-tourism lodge situated at some 180 km (110 miles) south of Nairobi, near the border with Tanzania, October 25, 2007. From more than 300 projects worldwide, Shompole won the 2006 Equator Prize for its grassroots efforts to reduce poverty through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. Over the last seven years Shompole has successfully repopulated the region's wildlife while bringing over half a million dollars to the local community. REUTERS/Radu Sigheti (KENYA)
