A PLANE LANDS AT THE NEW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN INCHON.
A Korean Air plane, a CE560, lands at the new Inchon International Airport in Inchon June 30. The airport which begain construction in 1992 will begin carrying out systems checks in July until the planned opening next March. By 2020, when the four-step construction plan is completed the airport will be handling 100 million passengers, seven million tonnes of cargo and a half million flights. Like Osaka's Kansai International, the Inchon will be able to operate 24 hours a day, an advantage achieved by construction offshore away from residential areas where noise regulations limit flights.
