The effigy of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is burnt during an anti-communist rally in Pusan, about 420 km (262 miles) southeast of Seoul, October 7, 2004. About 3,000 members of conservative groups, including Korean War veterans, protested against President Roh Moo-hyun's plan to abolish or amend the National Security Law, which classifies North Korea as an anti-national group, and called for the downfall of the Pyongyang government.
