Seoul, Korea - Republic of
SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT LISTENS TO NORTH KOREAN CHIEF DELEGATE IN SEOUL.
South Korean President Kim Dae-jung (R) listens to North Korean chief
delegate Kim Ryong-song as he describes how North Korean leader Kim
Jong-il is, at the presidential Blue House in Seoul September 17, 2001.
The two sides began ministerial talks in Seoul to end a six-month
hiatus in efforts at reconciliation between the two Koreas, which
remain technically at war because the 1950-53 Korean War ended in an
armistice rather than a peace treaty. The talks are slated to run until
Tuesday. REUTERS/Lee Jae-won
