BELGIUM AND FRENCH JOURNALISTS ARRIVE IN BANGKOK AFTER PARDON BY LAOS.
Journalists Thierry Falise (L) from Belgium and Vincent Reynaud from
France smile after arriving at Bangkok International Airport in
Thailand on July 9, 2003. The two men and Laotian-born U.S. pastor Naw
Karl Mua were pardoned by Communist Laos after a court sentenced them
last week to 15 years imprisonment for possession of explosives and
weapons and involvement in the death of a local militiaman. On arrival
in Bangkok from the Laotian capital Vientiane, the men said the trial
was a "mockery of justice" and denied the charges. REUTERS/Sukree
