LEBANON-POET:BEIRUT,11NOV99-Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish (L), a major figure in Arab literature, greets the audience with Lebanese composer Marcel Khalife (R) in front of massive turnout at the conclusion of the Jerusalem Today conference at the UNESCO palce in Beirut November 10. Darwish recited a collection of poems to the subtle old tunes of Khalife, who is awaiting trial on charges of blasphemy for singing a Darwish poem that included Koranic verse.
