The Alban Berg Quartet performs at the Roman temple of Bacchus on the
opening night of Lebanon's Baalbek International Festival, July 5,
2002. The quartet, which hails from Vienna, played Mozart, Bartok, and
Beethoveen on a candle-lit stage, as hundreds of Lebanese listened. The
four musicians, Gunter Pichler and Gerhard Schulz on violin, Thomas
Kakuska on viola, and Valentin Erben on cello, have played at festivals
