DELHI.
Indian police and colleagues accompany Indian newsreader Bhaskar Vohra
(C) after he came down from a television tower in New Delhi August 14,
2003. A newsreader for India's state-run radio climbed a 100 metre (300
feet) television tower in the capital on Thursday and threatened to
immolate himself if casual workers were denied a wage rise. Hundreds of
people gathered around the tower in the heart of New Delhi to watch
Bhaskar Vohra pacing up and down on top of the tower. "I am not a
terrorist, I am a translator cum newsreader," the man said in a
two-page statement hurled down the tower. REUTERS/Kamal Kishore
