A two month old white lioncub is carried by his mother in the lions den at Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen, the Netherlands, May 15, 2003. After a two month period the lion cubs were allowed to explore their habitat. There are only an estimated 30 white lions in the world, most of which are kept in captivity, because the chances of surviving in the wilderness, especially for white males are very slim due to the outstanding white fur.
