A Macedonian army soldier monitors the border with the Yugoslav province of Kosovo near the village of Tanusevci some 40 km (25 miles) north of the capital Skopje March 2, 2001. Macedonia's security forces exchanged fire several times this week with what the government described as ethnic Albanian guerrillas crossing from Kosovo and occupying the village.
