RELATIVES CRY DURING A FUNERAL FOR KILLED MACEDONIAN SOLDIER IN BUNARDZIK.
Vera Petrovska, the mother of the Macedonian soldier Robert Petrovski, 27, cries over his coffin in the village of Bunardzik, some 15 km east of the capital Skopje, April 29, 2001. Eight Macedonian soldiers were killed and six are injured on Saturday after an attack by ethnic Albanian gunmen near the village of Vejce (some 10 km north of Tetovo) near the Kosovo border. This is the first shooting incident since Macedonian Security forces quelled a month-long revolt by ethnic Albanian fighters, driving them out from their strongholds in the hills of northern Macedonia in late March.
