A migrant labourer from Bangladesh sits under clothes hung to dry on a line in a temporary dormitory in Seri Alam near Johor Bahru March 20, 2009. Malaysia will cancel some 55,000 visas for migrant labourers from Bangladesh, Malaysian media reported last week, as the government attempts to mitigate job losses arising from the global economic downturn. Thousands of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia were facing a bleak future due to unemployment and under-employment, the Bernama news agency quoted a Malaysian union leader as saying.
