MALAYSIAN SHOP FOR "KETUPAT" CASINGS AT AN OPEN MARKET IN KUALA LUMPUR.
Malaysian couple look at "ketupat" casings at an open market in Kuala Lumpur January 6. "Ketupat" is rice cooked in packets made from wooven coconut leaves and is a popular dish during the Eid al-Fitr celebration. The casings are sold at 10 ringgit ($2.63) for 30 pieces. Malaysian will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on January 7 or 8, depending on the sighting of the new moon, to mark the end of a month-long period of fasting during the ninth lunar month of Ramadan.
