MOSLEMS PAY TITHE IN KUALA LUMPUR.
A Moslem woman (L) hand in her tithe at a mosque in Kuala Lumpur January 4. Every Moslem must pay tithe and it is usually paid during the current fasting month of Ramadan. Collections of tithes will be used for support of the poor and needy. During Ramadan, the holiest month in the Moslem calendar, believers refrain from eating, drinking and sexual relations between sunrise to sunset, and celebrate the end of the period with the Eid al-Fitr festival.
