A Bambara woman sets a fire for firing pottery in the village of Kalabougou, 8 km (5 miles) from Segou, central Mali, February 10, 2007. Segou city in Mali, lying 235 km (146 miles) northeast of the capital Bamako on the River Niger, was founded by the Bozo people in 1620, on a site about 10 km (6 miles) from the present town.
