Young African elephants roam in their new enclosure at the Africam Safari Zoo in Puebla
A young African elephant stand in its new enclosure at the Africam Safari Zoo in Puebla June 5, 2012. Nine elephants, aged between four and nine, were kept in a temporary shelter in Namibia after their parents had been killed by ivory hunters. Overcoming many bureaucratic hurdles, Africam Safari finally got the go-ahead to move the threatened species to Mexico and save the elephants from being put to sleep by Namibian rangers who were unable to find the mammals a permanent home.
