Pilar Sanchez, a "muxe", wears a traditional Zapotec woman's costume as he serves food during a traditional Zapotec "Vela Muxe" party in Mexico City July 5, 2014. In Zapotec culture, a "muxe" is man who dresses and behaves in ways otherwise associated with women. Anthropologists say the tradition of blurring genders among Mexico's indigenous population is centuries old but has been revived in recent decades due to the gay pride movement. The "muxes", mostly of ethnic Zapotec ancestry, are widely respected in the southern state of Oaxaca. Picture taken July 5, 2014. REUTERS/Carlos Jasso (MEXICO - Tags: SOCIETY)
