A general view of the site where a new airport will be built at the town of San Salvador Atenco, near Mexico City September 9, 2014. Just one week after the Mexican government unveiled plans for a new airport in Mexico City to cater for up to 120 million passengers a year, opposition to the project is mounting with local residents up in arms over the $9 billion dollar project. The groundwork for the massive airport and its six runways has already begun in San Salvador Atenco, located in the capital's greater metropolitan area. Residents say the billion-dollar airport will have an adverse affect on the local environment and access to water from wells that are used on local farms. Picture taken on September 9.
