An old television set is seen underneath the trash waiting to be collected in Mexico City
An old television set is seen underneath the trash waiting to be collected in Mexico City, Mexico, December 16, 2015. Just days before analogue signals switch off in Mexico, scores of citizens have begun dumping their old television sets following a mass giveaway by the government in preparation for the technology shift. However, concerns remain as to what will happen with the estimated 40 million analogue television sets in the country after the switch to digital. Mexicans have until December 31 to make the change. To prepare the country's poorest for the switch the government has given out nearly 10 million television sets across the country, reportedly the biggest distribution of free television sets in the world.
