ROBERTO MADRAZO GOVERNOR OF MEXICO'S TABASCO STATE POSES FOR PHOTO.
Roberto Madrazo, the governor of the southeastern Mexican state of Tabasco, poses in the garden of the governor's mansion "Quinta Grijalva" in the state capital of Villahermosa after an interview with Reuters on October 17,2000. Madrazo said he plans to seek the national leadership of Mexico's long-ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and attempt to rebuild the party after its suprising defeat in July presidential elections. He said that the PRI lost touch with its roots and the people roughly two decades ago, a situation he hopes to reverse as party leader.
