PARENTS OF STRIKING STUDENTS IN JAIL PROTEST ON THEIR WAY TO UNIVERSITY CAMPUS.
A parent of a striking university student who was jailed yells while demanding the release of encarcerated students, while in their way to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) campus, February 14. The Federal Preventive Police (PFP) stormed the campus February 6 and arrested almost 700 students that day. The strike had started on April 20 when the university unveiled plans to hike enrollment fees for most of its 270,000 students to the equivalent of $69 a semester from a token two cents.
