FILE PICTURE OF BARUCH GOLDSTEIN GRAVE IN KIRYAT ARBA WHICH SUPREME COURT ORDERS REMOVED.
FILE PICTURE FROM JANUARY 1997 - A file picture from January 7, 1997 shows Jewish settlers in Kiryat Arba at prayers around the tomb of Baruch Goldstein, a right-wing Jewish doctor who gunned down 29 Moslem in 1994 as they prayed in a mosque in Hebron. Israel's Supreme Court ordered November 14 that the shrine built to Goldstein around his tombstone be removed. The shrine includes benches, light posts, a large stone terrace, as well as an altar with candles and a cupboard with holy books. The three-judge court ruled that the shrine effectively gave support to Goldstein's actions and must go.
