Fransiscan monks pass a sign on barbed wire pointing out the danger of mines left over from the 1967 Middle East war, as they walk along the banks of the Jordan River October 28 at the traditional site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. Hundreds of Christian pilgrims took part in a mass on the shores of the Jordan River and then collected holy water from the river in a ceremony organized by Fransiscan Catholics.
